AdCenter Needs Some TLC

by Darren on December 19, 2008

Today was the first time I’ve used AdCenter in a few months, and I actually realized that I hate it. After managing an AdWords account for most of the day before moving to AdCenter, I realized the AdCenter interface is so clumsy and slow and unintuitive that I really don’t want to advertise through AdCenter at all except that it does yield a decent ROI on the few conversions I will get. But if I got a few conversions less I think I would X AdCenter off the list just as I did with ASK.

AdCenter does provide the import feature which is very handy for importing an AdWords campaign straight into AdCenter, I wrote about it in a past post and I still recommend using it because its about the only advantage AdCenter has that seems to be better than Yahoo. But even that doesn’t qualify AdCenter as a worthy competitor to AdWords and Yahoo. Even after you import the campaign you have to go through the process of an anciently slow performing interface. If I had a larger budget for AdCenter I would have MSN build the AdCenter campaign for me because it so painfully sucks. I wonder if the people at AdCenter actually use the same interface we do? Something tells me they don’t.

I’m going to back into AdCenter tomorrow and try and reload those nagative keywords that I attempted several times today but for some reason kept disappearing.
