I rant about AdCenter a lot. It’s just so cumbersome and clunky, it’s so frustratrating that everytime I go to the AdCenter interface it feels like the first time. But the CTR (click through rate), now that’s something else! Realize that CTR doesn’t mean a damn thing if it doesn’t result in a conversion, and the challenge for me at this point is to get the clicks to convert into sales.
With click rates of 11% and 6%, and such low cost clicks it wouldn’t take but a few sales per month to return a very nice ROI. I’ve increased thead spend to increase the click, and I expect to see a few sales generated over the next few days. If everything works out well, I’ll increase the ad spend.
My main AdWords campaign CTR is averaging 7.32% and a metro targeted campaign is at 1.47%, but I just launched the metro campaign today and should have no problem increasing it over the next week.
I realize the importance of conversion tracking and I am tracking my Google conversions. But it’s a newly launched and rather large PPC marketing campaign so I haven’t gotten around to taking care of all the necessary details. If the AdCenter sales come in I’ll take the necessary steps to install conversion tracking. Conversion tracking is different than analytics because you are able to generate customized snapshot reports of what is happening only from the search engine perspective, not the analytics program perspective.
